Why do we take the pictures we take? What do they embody for us? Picture ‘hunting’ is what we do. Our ability is to see transitional shapes which then become our targets.
Becoming aware of an abstract or seemingly insignificant silhouette or shadow can create a fascinating picture. The image is often aided by the movement of the sun or a change in viewing position.
Light, which is the essence of photography, will reveal something temporary and unique, an image which is transitional. When the light moves on, the image is lost. Pictures are about shape, form, composition, evoking feelings ranging from humour to mystery and drama - frequently unseen by the casual observer.
It may be worth mentioning that none of our pictures are set up - all shots and objects were there to record.
Like all art, our images need a moment's appreciation. Enjoy!
